Handover, step by step
- Completion. The project is finished and receives its completion certificate, and DLD issues a technical report confirming completion.
- Registration of the completed project. The developer registers the completed project with DLD.
- Final payment. The buyer pays the balance due on handover under the payment plan.
- Title deed. Fully paid units move from the interim register (Oqood) to the main register, and DLD issues the title deed. DLD's service page lists AED 250 for the deed and AED 250 for the unit map.
- Keys. The developer hands over the unit. Snagging inspections and key handover follow the developer's own process; DLD does not publish a standard procedure for them.
Escrow after handover
After the completion certificate, 5% of the project's escrow account is held back. It is released one year after the units are registered in buyers' names.
On Nogbase
Handover dates and payment milestones are part of each project's data, so brokers can quote them and buyers can see what is due on handover.
